Patient R is being prepped for an ECT treatment. The nurse places a bite block in her mouth and has her on a heart monitor. The paddles are gelled and placed on her temples and the patients body stiffens. Sweat glistens on her body under the intense lights and the monitor goes flat line and CPR is immediately started. Defibrillations restart her heart again and another round of treatment begins.
